Seventeen year-old British racing driver James Pull will take to the wheel tomorrow (Thursday 29th August) at Silverstone for his first taste of the FIA European F3 machinery.
Teaming up with the current championship-leading team Carlin, the talented teenager will be given the chance to impress at the Northamptonshire circuit, making the step up to a powerful Dallara-Volkswagen 2.0 litre for the first time.
The Singapore-born driver is currently in the midst of a strong and consistent campaign with the Surrey-based outfit in the BRDC British F3 Championship. Gracing the podium an impressive 13 times across 7 rounds, James’ eyes are set upon ending the season as vice-champion in only his rookie year in the series.
After proving himself as one to watch during this year's British F3 season this opportunity provides James with the next step towards competing in the highly-competitive FIA European F3 championship.
With the car being unlike anything he’s driven before James looks ahead to the challenge:
“I’m excited to have this opportunity, it’s big step for me in my career. The car is fantastic and a lot of great drivers have driven with Carlin in F3, so to have the chance to follow in their footsteps and show what I can do, is a really great feeling. The team at Carlin are fantastic and I know them well”
